A Stampede Breakfast BY community, FOR community, and IN community. Yahoo!

WOW, we have possibly never had SO MANY attendees to a single Stampede breakfast ever. What a party!

We cannot thank our incredible community (that includes all of YOU) enough for not only attending, but supporting, sharing, volunteering, and helping us to make our annual Stampede Breakfast THE event of the year.

Try to convince us that Hillhurst-Sunnyside isn’t the best community around, we dare you 😉

The Calgary Stampede crew really, truly, shows up for Norfolk Housing every year and we wouldn’t be able to host such a memorable and packed event without them. A HUGE thank you to the Stampede Promotions Committee and the Batter Boys for flipping well over 1500 pancakes for us this year!

This year we had the talented and beautiful Calgary Stampede Princess, Brooke and Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess, Margaret Holloway join us and they were so generous with taking photos. Harry the Horse also made an appearance – he’s always a huge hit, and not just with the kids! We love you, Harry! We also had Calgary Surge’s mascot Surgio out as well, and he was such a fun additio to our day! Not only that, the local fire department came by and were so generous with letting the kids tour the fire trucks and talking to interested residents of the community.

We also had visits from 3 members of government! A true testament to the community we’re working to build and a genuine pleasure to host them and hear what they have to say about affordable housing in our city.

Thank you so much to Mayor Jyoti Gondek, Councillor Terry Wong (Ward 7), and MLA Kathleen Ganley for making NHA a Stampede must-do. It means the world to us!

Frankly, it wouldn’t be a party without music, would it? And lucky for us, we have some of the best in the city! The Enablers rocked the street with us all morning and had everyone up dancing and stomping their boots.  They’re becoming the stuff of legends around these parts – get in touch with them directly about your events (just save us the second Friday of Stampede, ok? 😉).

The party would have been significantly less exceptional without our amazing sponsors, thank you so much for helping us create an event for everyone!!

Aggudo Coffee generously supplied coffee for everyone, and sent staff to serve it! Their attention to detail, gorgeous social media presence, and kindness the last couple of years have meant a ton to us.

Lassonde supplied juice boxes, as they do every year, and we appreciate it so very much!

Kensington Pub donated 3 boxes of pre-cooked sausages to serve and very generously allowed us to use their power source – something you don’t think about until you need it. Thank you, K Pub!

Anita Ip from Desjardins Insurance has been a huge supporter of our breakfast the last two years – this year she supplied the table and chair rentals PLUS covered Fancy Faces balloon and glitter artists and kids’ face painter. Thank you, Anita!

And last but most certainly not least, our friends, tenants, and neighbours FYIDoctors generously donated $500 to help us make this Stampede breakfast one to remember – we hope we did you proud! 😊

We also received just an OUTPOURING of donations from our extremely generous community businesses. We honestly can’t believe it – we were able to give out 3 very stacked raffle baskets to 3 very lucky winners!

A HUGE thank you to these generous businesses for making some community members very happy! (Check out the winners on our Instagram page!)
